Field of Battle

He stared at the field of battle. He had been mulling over it for days now. Each move calculated and played out in his head.

His opponent was ruthless though, catching him in a trap. The old man stared at him, patiently.

With a smile, he made his weekly comment, “You ready to learn?”

The boy looked up, “How is losing learning?”

“My boy, failure will always be our greatest battle, but also can be the greatest lesson of all.”
