Rays of the moon danced through the skylight, highlighting the statue of Zeus below, creating shadows for hidden things to dwell. I needed to move quickly. I glided through the moonlight, which strengthened my courage. I had to complete my task before the shadows emerged, challenging me.

I entered the room of relics, replicas sacred objects–fakes. The real things were with them, except one. One needed returning–a crescent crown–stolen. For if it was not returned, the moon will surely die.

I reached out, but it disappeared.

“Looking for this?”

I turned. Shadows ready to pounce.

“Selene, protect me.”
