Magic Kingdom Day Trip | The UndercoverDisneyJediPrincess Secret Itinerary

disney-magic-kingdom-mapEnter the Magic Kingdom/Main Street, USA

First thing is first: Make sure you go and stand in front of Main Street, USA and soak in the fact you are standing in the Magic Kingdom. Admire the Castle, take some pictures, and this is a great time to get a family photo by the photographers standing in the street. Why? Because everyone is fresh, happy, and non-sweaty. Trust me you don’t want to try half way or at the end of the day. It isn’t pretty…

Also, don’t wander through the stores yet. Wait until later. It isn’t convenient for you or your pocketbook–one word: Locker. Now what you do want to hit in the line of shops is the Disney Starbucks. Get all the caffeine you can!

Head to Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland is the best place to start, especially if you have later elementary age and older kids. So here is my list below of the order of rides to hit:

  1. SPACE MOUNTAIN!
  2. Buzz Lightyear
  3. Stitch’s Great Escape!
  4. Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor
  5. People Mover
  6. Carousel of Progress
  7. Astro Orbiter

At this point, check the time. If it is close to lunch and ready to eat go grab a bite at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe or any other quick service place in Tomorrowland or Fantasyland.

Personally, I leave them for dinner and I head over to Liberty Square on the other side of Fantasyland and eat at Columbia Harbour House, which is next to Haunted Mansion.

After Lunch: Fantasyland

Wherever you got lunch, make sure you head to Fantasyland next. Here is a list of the ones to hit first and on:

  1. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  2. Under the Sea
  3. Mad Tea Party
  4. Prince Charming Regal Carousel
  5. Mickey’s Philharmagic

Now there are a few rides that are more for the younger ones so here are the must hits for them in Fantasyland:

  1. Peter Pan
  2. Winnie the Pooh
  3. It’s a Small World
  4. And everything in the Toon Fair section.

Cross into Liberty Square

Liberty Square is more shops and shows than rides. I ALWAYS hit Haunted Mansion and if I am feeling adventurous the Riverboat.

If you are a history buff this is where you go the Presidents show, but that is the one ride I have been on when I was three, and never went to it again.

Slide on over to Frontierland

Liberty Square and Frontierland are right next to each other with no obvious divider.  Here is my go-to list in order of what I would do:

  1. Big Thunder Mountain
  2. Splash Mountain (If it isn’t cold…burr!)
  3. Tom Sawyer’s Island (You roam around and explore!)

Jump over to Adventureland

This area has just as much fun stuff to do as Tomorrowland, which is why it is a good one to end with. If it is close to dinner I cross over to Starlight Cafe and then cross back. Here is the list:

  1. Pirates of the Carribean
  2. Jungle Cruise
  3. Tiki Room
  4. Aladin’s Carpet Ride
  5. Swiss Family Robinson Tree House

Revisit Favorites | If there is Time

Here is the list of rides I will go on over and over again if I have time:

  1. Space Mountain
  2. People Mover
  3. Buzz Lightyear
  4. Haunted Mansion
  5. Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride
  6. Big  Thunder Mountain
  7. Pirates of the Carribean

End at Main Street

This is the time for shopping. You are done with dragging things off and on the rides, so pile up the shopping bags. Make sure you go through ALL the shops. They are worth it. This is also a great time to get a sunset or nighttime castle pic. If the family is happy, join in the picture.

Then end the night watching the most magical firework show in the country!

Extras:

Of course, I only did rides and places to eat, but there are shows, parades, and character meet and greets you can do as you go through the rides. I encourage you to do all that you can. Whether you go at a slow, easy pace or if you are marathon runners through the park (I identify with you runners), enjoy the magical time you will have.

Keep up the FAITH, TRUST, and Sprinkle a little PIXIE DUST,

AshleyDannie
